Because gas prices seem to be increasing daily, I am considering replacing the hubs with manuals. I dont mind getting out to lock them(I actually prefer it) but I am looking to increase my gas mileage.
i dont know if manual hubs will help your gas millage but they are far superior to automatic hubs which do not work 90% of the time.
Fortunately I haven’t had the first problem with my auto hubs on this Ford in 10 years. This is the only truck I have ever owned with auto hubs. All the others have been manual. Actually this truck has been the most dependable of all (well except my 76' CJ7...which is a rock....but who wants to drive it everyday?) With my Ford you get the dependability of the jeep but with the ride of a Expedition....well a little stiffer...LOL. (I guess that is what I love most about my ole' Ford and the reason I haven’t got rid of her in all the years.......you don’t get rid of a horse because a new one is born.......I would put my old truck up against any new one any day)
