Question gas in oil

today I started up my lawn mower and gas started pouring out of the exhaust. At first i didnt think anything of it but then it wouldnt run right so i shut it off and started checking things out. When I draned the oil it was almost compleatly gas does anyone know what might have caused this. The motor is a 12hp briggs, thanks.

Let me guess: The fuel system is gravity feed, right?

Well, if so, your float is stuck in the carb, or the needle valve is stuck open with debris or worn out.

Had a couple of motorcycles this happened on. PITA.
