Code 27 means that the PAD (passenger airbag disconnect) lamp is faulty.
I just fixed the same in a 99 F150 auction purchase I acquired.
Simple test is to take a key and activate the PAD disconnect switch and observe the light. If it doesen't come on, most likely it is burned out.
It is a simple fix and you should be able to get a suitable lamp replacement from Radio Shack or search the forums for my fix to replace the lamp with an LED.
Note. There is an error in the LED document that has the LED leads reversed. Just reverse the leads from what the fix details.
