Great question. I had asked that question before and got no response. I love the Edge, but not knowing what the "normal operating limits" are make the monitoring system of little use.
I asked the people at Edge what parameters they used, but they couldn`t tell me.

Well I look at it this way. If the truck has a 196 deg t-stat in it then it should run about 196. If the coolant is running at 196 then the engine is operating at 196 deg. You can't forget that during hot weather it will run a little hotter than t-stat deg that is in the engine. The oil doesn't flow through a cooler so I would ecpect it to get a little warm. The only heat dissipation is through the aluminum heads and block. It will tend to hold more heat than your trans. On the other hand your transmission has an external cooler to keep the unit in check. This is a vital part of your trans temp. If you boil the fluid than you'll toast your tranny and spend major $$$$$ fixing it. I would expect that everything else should fall right into place as far as #'s go. Hell most Chevy's I have seen run at 220deg on the coolant temp. This is a non towing situation. I was kind of happy with the coolant temps and the trans temps. The oil temp caused me a little concern, but like I said, it was hot outside and I was working the truck. It cooled down right after I got off the hills (droped to 200). This edge is a must have for towing just for the extra oomph it gives you on the hills and the monitor pkg it has built into it. I would never be comfortable towing without it. Also, always tow any significant weight with OD off, unless of course you are on completely flat land. Around here even the smallest grades will have it searching for the correct gear.

the4by4freek...Thanks for the time and effort to explain, with all respect we deserve at least an answer (from Edge) telling us what the threshold for these parameters under normal condition, towing and/or under high performance...A great feature of Edge unit is the monitor, what is the benefit of having it if we do not get a "GUIDE" for it?

I will post my numbers and if everyone post his numbers, think if everyone copy and past these parameters with his values, it will help?

EOT 221 (under stress, 70+ mph, temp 95+F, not hauling or towing)
ECT 200
TFT 186
CHT 210
LPD 116 (at traffic light) 56 in the morning
FRP 40
TSS later
MAS later
MASV later
VCT 50 (max)
SPARK Advance 16 (at idle) ???
TQC zero
LOAD 23 (at traffic light) with A/C on
BAT 13.6 to 13.8
IAF 166 (max)

Edge Level 3, fuel 95, timing 2.5,
MPG ~ 14MP

Edge problem

Ok guys tried to install the Edge today in my 06 Screw. Gives some error code won't load any programs and of course the cust serv center is closed. I guess I 'll have to email them the info from my stock set-up? This sucks!!!!

you'll be better off talking to them on the phone. They will walk you through it. Quick question, did you update your Edge yet? If not, try that first.

When you first plugged in your Edge, did it give you the pcm code?
Did you turn the key on first and then plug your Edge in?
If not then this is your problem. If no code then Edge will guide you from there. If you plugged in the Edge then turned the key it will not work correctly.

I have the black and silver in my truck. Right now the pod is black. I have read that Krylon Fusion Graphite with a light drift of flat black will match perfectly.
