rebuilt 351w horspower and torque to expect?
I recently built a 351w for my truck and am wondering the horsepower and torque that it may be making? the motor has
keith black domed pistons, comp cams 4x4 extreme energy cam 270 duration 512 intake lift 532 exhaust lift, ported and polished heads, comp cams guide plates, comp cam double valve springs, comp cams retainer and lock kit, comp cams double roller timing chain, manley pro flo stainless steel valves, crane aluminum roller rockers, edelbrock performer rpm air gap intake, comp cams push rods, edelbrock fuel pump, 770 cfm holley street avenger carb, custom made 1 3/4 headers, 2 1/2 custom dual exhaust with 2 chamber flow masters, msd ignition box, msd coil, accel plug wires, k & n air cleaner. the block was also bored 30 over, and the block had the pistons put in, the gap measured from the top of the block and then cut to 0 to up the compression. i believe its right around 12 :1 compression.
Thats everything i can rember that i put in it, thanks in advance for the help

I'd say your probably in the 350-370 hp range. The combo looks pretty good, the cams a little small but should be good for 4x4 type torque. I don't know why you went with so much compression?..Your probably going to have to run race fuel...If you want to make big power I'd go with a longer duration camshaft and some aftermarket heads(aluminium would help with the high compression).

with 1.84/1.54 valves in 69-77 351W i came up with this with the setup you gave me. I put it in bored .030 over to 4.030 bore 3.500 stroke
max HP 5000 RPM 378HP
max TQ 3500 RPM 449Ft
That is off desktop dyno software.
If you have the newer motor with 1.78/1.45 valves looking at this..
max HP 5000 RPM 357HP
max TQ 3500 RPM 443Ft
If you need any more help let me know.

High compression=higher octane fuel (@12:1 you're pushing the envelope for detonation with pump gas). Can you afford to run race gas in a street vehicle? I was talking to my local speed shop guy and he also advised not to run a torque cam with the piston- head volume (read compression) combo I was looking at. Finally decided on a -10.5cc dish to lower the c.r. with my 58.2cc heads for a more managable 10.5-ish c.r. to allow me to run a little more of a torquey cam and pump gas. Oh. This is in a .060 over 347 stroker. Who says you have to have a new block to have a 351?

hmm and im not really sure, i would think this cam isnt all about torque since its got a decently high duration? not really sure so thought i would ask the specs on the cam are at this link http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Se...umber=35-243-4
