Harley Dealership in China

A Harley Davidson dealership to open in China.

Will they make a plant over there make Harleys and ship them over here? Or, naw! That wont happen.

What's your opinion?

I don't think HD would be stupid enough to build bikes in China and try to sell them in USA. They would become another Far East motorcycle company

Harley prides itself on being an American company that makes American motorcycles. Every though many of the parts are foreign.

I own a couple of them and would never buy a Harley made in China.

If they did, my next bike would be a BMW.

I have a T-shirt from the Harley dealer in Kuwait. My buddy in India stiffed me on the Bombay T-shirt though.

Don't get me started on China. I hope a lot of Chinese people and everyone else for that matter get to ride whatever kind of Harley they can get - it's a good thing. I have no expectations of anything significant coming from it really. This won't fix our record trade imbalance.

no doubt they'll just try to make a clone of it like they did with the HONGA -
probably call it a Havely Davidson?

It's good to see an american company competing on the global market, just like those asian companies that people here love to hate on do.

China is starting to roll in $$. American and Japanese car companies are building stuff over there. I'm sure that HD wants some of that cash. First a dealer, then a plan to build HDs to sell in country.

Would they sell Chinese made bikes here -- not if they didn't want the dealers to be burned to the ground! Might try to sell them in the rest of the world.

My opinion

I recently heard that since China is swimming in so much ca$h, they are buying up Gold and will most likely affect the global Gold prices soon...I bet they will try to corner the Gold market....anyway, Mao said "they will take us down using 'ourselves against ourselves'...or something like that... "
