Is This A Blower Or Super Charger???
I was going through Ebay today and saw what was listed as a 1980 Mercury Comet?I thought they died in the 70's? Anyway I took a look at the only photo they had and it was of the engine compartment but certainly looks nothing like a 1980 engine compartment I have ever seen. The engine looks to have a blower/turbo of some sort and some other things that do not look right for a 1980 vehicle.Like I said there were no photos of the body, front end or anything other than the engine compartment so I don't even know exactly what the car is but the engine appears to be a Ford but not sure what, maybe a super charged 3.8 Cougar or T-Bird? I am attempting to post a photo here on this thread but not very good at this so I will include the Ebay item number for it,#4623709678 I hope somebody here can please look at it and let me know what I bought. Thanks

A blower is a belt driven forced induction setup usually rotor type but can be others too. A supercharger is any type of system that forces air into an engine, so a blower is a supercharger, but a supercharger can be a blower, or a turbo etc.
Hope that makes it clear as mud.
And as far as that ebay ad, the last year for the comet was 1977 as I recall, so there shouldn't be any such thing as a 1980 mercury comet. Looks like a scammer to me.
