Reverse trouble

Sometimes when I back up my truck acts like its about to die. Why is this?

I had an issue with this on my 88 Ranger....Come to find out it was a relay...

Mine does the same thing especially when backing up on a hill. And sometimes it does die on me. Been doing it for years and the dealership can't figure out why.
