The ladies love the 'Stroke!
It's so nice to be driving through campus in my truck and have people always looking at me, especially the ladies. When I drive by I keep it around 600 RPMs, which is just enough to hear the turbo start spooling up. I go to a school with about 3000 students, mostly girls, and I get little looks all the time. When I talk to people I know they always say the same thing about my rig; "That thing is huge." Ahhh, makes me swell up with pride. I sit proud in my Power Stroke . Nothing wrong with a little showin' off if you ask me. Can anybody relate?

Oh yeah, I can relate. Ive got a '99 F-150 4x4 regcab longbed with dual exhaust and I get stares all the time.
Im getting compliments on my truck all the time.
In fact, a while back I hung out with an old friend from highschool and he brought several of his female friends with him and they were literally fighting over who got to ride with me in my truck.
Many times Ive been cruising around on a Saturday night in the summer and have been sitting at a stoplight and had women say they love my truck. I cant wait untill its time to trade my F-150 in on an F-250.
I never got that reaction from women when I drove a Toyota.

I will admit. I love the sound of PSDs. I love the rumble, especially with aftermarket exhausts. I love the sound of the turbo spooling, especially when they are loud as hell. I love almost everything about them expect for the drivability. I CANNOT stand the fact that they do not have instant response. I want to step on them and go. I don't want to give it more than half throttle just to take off as fast as the cars around me. Now, the only truck I have to judge this by is my dad's 96 bone stock PSD, but even with a chip, you will not have the instant response of a gasser. My ideal truck would be the sound of a PSD with the drivability of a gasser.
And no, I'm not trying to start a Gas vs. Diesel debate.

I know that, hence why I don't own one or want one. If I needed to haul stuff around, sure, the diesel would be worth it. But you and I know there are ALOT of people on this site and others not on this site that use an F250 CC LB with the PSD as a grocery getter and family car. These trucks were not meant for that, but people use them for that.
I have a T-bird because that car suites my needs just fine. I had a 92 ranger ext. cab 2.3L 5 speed. That truck was very reliable but I got rid of it because A) I got such a good deal on this T-bird and B) I had no use for a truck.
When people ask if they should go gas or diesel, someone always puts in that diesels are alot easier to mod. That right there changes a diesel from a work truck to a play truck. People can get what they want because they won't be happy if they don't but some people use their trucks for the wrong reasons and then want them to act like a sports car. Its not going to happen.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone but this is just my thought.

Warren, my truck is a 2000..thinking about getting an '03 7.3 next year with a crew cab though . I guess we'll see what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Oh and yes, it'll be an F-350 this time!! I didn't want a '99 because they had different turbos, intercoolers and injectors...if I'm not mistaken... The '99 trucks don't sound as nice as the 00-03 7.3s IMO. Especially the '98 build date ones...damn things sound like a can of coffee beans rattling!
