89Ford Bronco II Oxygen sensor 4 or 3 wire

I have a 89 Ford Bronco II project car with a 2.9 Fuel Injected engine. I just put a clutch in it and replaced the Y pipe along with the oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor I took out was a 4 wire the one that I was sold was a 3 wire, when asked about the difference I was told all of them are now 3 wire. We started and test ran the vehicle, after running the codes it showed the temperature sensor was out of range and the Mass Air Change was bad. After replacing these two items it now says the oxygen sensor is lean(replace) does this have anything to do with 3/4 wire sensor. I called Ford and they said the 4 wire is obselete see if you can find one on the internet. Big help..The vehicle seems to fall on its face during acceleration, if you accelerate very slowly the engine seems to stay with you but if you get ahead of it, it seems to fall on its face some type of fuel issue ...... the Original Ford part number was F07F-9F472-DA Thanks Ira551

Welcome to FTE!!

The Ford wiring diagram for 1989 shows only 3 wires, o/bk for the 12v key on, dg/p to the ECU and bl/lg for ground.

That 4th wire is just a chassis ground that the O2 sensor grabs from the threads now. Finding a 4 wire won't help your problem but you're new one my just simply be bad. Pull it, get a warranty replacement, clear codes and see what happens. Good Luck.
