The reason I am asking is there is a used auto dealer in Missoula that has PSD crew cab 4x4 5 speed that I am interested in. He has sent me some pictures and it looks pretty decent, it was a work truck, but does have a few dings but interior looked pretty good also. If I really get serious about this, I was wondering if someone lived close that new what to look for as in problems or overall condition would do me a huge favor and look it over and maybe test drive it.
Thank you for the offer lovethosediesels. I did actually find a guy, mtgrzlyman who lives in the same town and he went and checked it out for me. I am still thinking about it because there are of course some minor things that would need fixing but mtgrzlyman found what looked like oil on top of the engine. He thinks it might be the turbo seal but others have commented that it could be a possible number of other things also. Plus, I also live in Vermont so I will need to get it shipped out here which will cost me at least $1400. My ranger right now either has a blown head gasket or cracked head, so I need to get that fixed because I would sell that if I bought it to help pay for shipping.
