I have run 5w30 in my 97 F150 4.6 4x4 w/195400 miles on the clock, and for the last 25,000 miles I've had no engine troubles (knock on wood). I jsut switched to MC 5w30 about 1500 miles ago and noticed that the tick I had at startup is gone.

The oil filler cap says 5w20 on my 02, so does the manual.

Well if I made you laugh, then my work here is done. Wasn't that from almost a year ago anyway?

Lighten up, you clearly don't know sarcasm. Everyone has a different oil need based on all sorts of factors. I was giving my opinion....geez.

Good luck, bro.

Im thinking of going with a 0w30 m1 on the next oil change. My 97 has run on 5w30 from day 1 and now that 0w30 is avaiable, I dont see a down side. I also see that it meets fords 929 standard that others have noted in the board.
