A couple of smell threads here.

The exhaust on my 2000 V10 smells like it's running rich. You all know what that smells like.

Also, on my last tank, I got 10.5 MPG which seems slightly (but not a lot) low.

No codes are being thrown.

Any suggestions on what I should do to lean out the mix a little or otherwise investigate the problem?

 

Any ideas here?

 

I'm not a mechanic but my last vehicle that did that had a bad fuel pressure regulator. 1994 Explorer. The inside of the tailpipe was sooted up and the mileage went to crap.

 

i get 10.6 mpg all the time. does it only smell like that when the truck is warming up from a cold start? mine does, if so, its normal. if no, its all the time, then i dont know... sorry.
