I noticed that the lower water pump gasket from the pump to the engine is leaking. Can I just replace that one? Or do I need to replace the whole pump? Does anyone know?
It appears to be, from what I can see, from where a metal flange pipe of the pump makes contact with the block. I am assuming that is the pump to block gasket. Where are the pump seals located?
Okay, I got a better look under there, its hard to actually! It is leaking from the weeping hole under the pump shaft. I have just finished replacing the pump last night. Man, I hope I got enough gasket sealant without over doing it on the block gaskets! We shall see today when I run it and check for leaks or loose parts!
If it leaks a little when first installed, before you rip it off and redo the gaskets, just give those four bolts a little tweak. Sometimes that's enough.
