I also reconmend Princess Auto. Last year the 6 hp B/S engine on our rotor tiller finally died ( '82). Asked a B/S dealer and they said they didn't make a 6 hp engine with a 3/4" shaft anymore. Went to Princess Auto and they had a 6.5 HP B/S in the surplus with a 3/4" shaft. The only thing we had to do is get different bolts (coarse to fine) and it bolted right up. It's an OHV one too.

Yeah my riding mower 10.5 went last year. It was a Tumcesh. I got a B/S 10hp new from Youngs engine repair out here. It was cheaper than the places in the city. It cost me about $750.00. The old motor I gave to a friends dad to play with. He likes to work on lawnmowers, but usually not riding mowers.

Thats what happened to my riding mower also. It was eletric start and now I have the hand start. It needs the choke adjusted better to help with the starting. You can buy the hand start and change the in over to electric. Just a pain to take off the flywheel to put on the other mower so I left it off.
eventully will get a bigger unit where it can have a rototiller on it for doing the garden areas.
