I've run ATF a few times.

Get yourself one of these, a spin on filter element, and a 1 or 3 micron filter (depending on how paranoid you are) and youre good to go. You can even wire it to run off of 12v so your truck powers the pump.

Head over to any trans shop and they are usually happy to let you have some ATF.

I've read that you could fry your fuel shut off solenoid by using watf due to small metal filings that gets into the solenoid and fry it, not shure if this true, but if so.. wouldnt filtrering with either a engine oil filter or fuel filter or a mix of the 2 get rid of the particulates in the WATF ?? And if you would set up a filtering unit what would be the best setup ??

I bought the filter head at Grainger and I had a portable diesel pump I spliced it into the hose and went to auto parts store and found a oil filter that fit the head. And done worked well

Oil filters are 22 microns normally, the farm type fuel filters are 10 microns, some filters 4 microns, some water filters are 1 micron, used ATF must be filtered. PSD's may have trouble with higher viscosity oils, Idi's seam to love it, except in cold weather. transformer oil is sometimes mineral oil, up to 70 cetane, 50/50 0-20 full synthetic moter oil (virgin) runs great 150 degrees more egt's =more heat more power, starts fine suntan lotion is mineral oil too. rape seed oil, sunflower seed oil, vegetable oil, hemp oil. the first diesels ran on vegetable oil. ATF is mineral oil. some hydraulic fluid is fire resistant so check it be for you mix it and ruin a batch.
