Back to the dealer with it, those holes should be "universal", I'd think.

Sorry Monsta...shameless non V10 post
Thanks Fredvon4, but I don't care for the window vent shades. My windows probably don't go up or down five times a year. I consider my cab a "Climate Controlled Environment" utilizing the HVAC controls on the dash.

AB: I'll check into those Deflecta things. Do you believe they actually do something or is it just an accessory you have gotten used to putting on your vehicles? Not really sure if they actually work or not, but was considering giving them a try.

i beleive your correct art. i have used my hitch in my last 4 trucks factory receivers no problem/try rocking it up and down by the ball . and yes the bug guards screw into the spots the rubber seal would normally go into.

good luck with your new ride guy. many happy years.

I think they do help with keeping the bugs off the windshield. You still get them, but not near what you would without. I also never get small rock hits on the windshield.

Dealer should have no problem replacing the 12K hitch with one that is drilled correctly... Take two different ball recievers with you to prove yours is drilled correctly

I've used the same hitch on my '05 that I use on my '97 and I've also used hitches from the local rental equipment company with no problems.

The only issue I've had with bud deflectors is that they tend to affect the windshield washer spray when driving at highway speeds. It seems that the spray will go every except on the windshield. Of course I guess that is how they keep the bugs off the windshield.

That is very descriptive and helpful. Makes a ton of sense!

Thanks,
Michael

P.S. Not that I have ever mentioned it on these forums, but MY TRUCK GETS BUILT THIS WEEK!!!!

Oops, you're right, I totally forgot about the bling factor.

No doubts...HUGE bling factor. Where in the h e double hockey sticks does rap come into this thread?

Blings would be HUGE wheels (with spinners?), shiny steel (stainless or gold?) all over the truck. Wheel well covers, gas cap covers, lots of chrome replacements for the grill, etc. Want to get a bling explanation? Watch BET for 30 seconds, if you can stomach it.

A piece of dark plastic to help blow off (theoretically) some bugs does not fall into the bling factor.

I don't know if it qualifies for bling, but I took my bug deflector off. It didn't deflect bugs but it did help for rock chips on the leading edge of the hood. I'm looking to go with the Clear Bra on the hood instead.

There ya go. In the Pacific Nwst, they use sand and gravel instead of salt, and the bug shield really helps with the rock chips. Sure makes you learn to despise all the painted front bumpers out there though.

gepers ernie . here they mix it all up and spead it out. after a storm you can't tell what color you had to start with. they wind up all white and you wash off 100 pounds of sand and gravel.
the so called bug guards "around me we call them bling as don't do that much but look good". esp. right now with huge swarms of black trout loving may flys. my nose looks like smake heaven every thing is black or covered with bug guts.
