Replaced entire coolant system, still hot
92 F150 302 EFI, rebuilt motor 2 weeks ago, then the mechanic replaced radiator, thermo, hoses... but for some reason, it was still running a little hot. He then put on a HD radiator(aftermarket) but said that the pressure was still too high.
I remember reading on here somewhere that if there is a top side pressure problem, that they drilled a small hole in the thermo housing, or something like that.
Can anyone give me suggestions. I'm sorry I dont have the names of the aftermarket radiator and thermo, but if you know a good brand that I should put on there, that would help greatly

You state that "it is still running hot". Does that mean that it was overheated? The reason I ask is that if the engine was severly overheated, the temp sender may be damaged. This will cause the gauge to read incorrectly. I live in Houston also, so I know how hot it can get, but the cooling systems in these trucks are very efficient. Mine has never gotten past the middle of the gauge. Good luck.
