I have a remanufactured transmission in the truck I bought. Is there a way to determine the year, or other imformation from the numbers on the ID tag?

 

Dont know for sure but on the OEM units we rebuild for the highway patrol here on the tag on the right side of the unit bottom row of middel right side of tag there there in this format :MM/DD/YY these units are 4R70W'S

I would think the Ford reman unit would be the same...Bill

 

I now have the tag in my hand. Much easier to read that way. In the upper right corner it says remanufactured. Then on the left side there are three numbers with bar codes. Starting from top to bottom I'll list them in order.

I was able to find the last number as a ford/motorcraft reman number. The other two are a mystery to me...
