a builders dream.. but a few questions also

i have a 1976 f-100 explorer.. i just took the motor out of her and put her in my 82 f-150.. i want to rebuild this truck, i'm just curious about 2 things... one, what size motor should i put in her, cuz i'm planning on taking it off road alot, *need a mud toy* my usual choice would be either a 302 or 351... but i just want some suggestions here.. and how hard would it be to put a front 4wheel drive unit into her? i've removed the front suspension once.. and that was a PITA... any more difficult or should i let a shop do it? and thanks...

Tim, You have three choices that will bolt right up The I6, 302 or 351. You can put a 4X4 suspension under the truck but it will be an undertaking. If you have good sheet metal you might want to find a 4X4 with bad, and switch your good over on it.

ya i've heard this suggestion, but down here in ford country these ford 4x4s are hard to come by and there is no way i'm putting a dodge or CH**y under this thing... aint no way
i'll keep looking tho, but i have found a couple good transfercases and all the suspension for the front, its just rather expensive at the moment.
