Ive got a 1990 Ranger, two-wheel drive...that came with the "americna racing rims, (i believe thats what they are) option! Goodyear wingfoot tires I believe is what was stock. The tires have been replaced in the past with a different size than what came on the rim, anyone know what size tire that is that came with that option?
I am not positive if 90' ranger and a 92' explorer would have the same size tires or not. I dont think they changed tire sizes between the 2 years, but the 92' explorer had 235/75/R15 if that might be of any help
If you do look on a web site to find the correct size I would measure the diameter of the rim to make sure it is correct, because I have a 98' ranger and all the web sites I checked said it only came with 15" rims but on the door it calls for 16" rims
My 92 4.0 4x4 originally came with 215/70r15 So I doubt the 90 2wd came with 235/75r15. Call the dealer and ask them what your truck rolled out on. All they need is the VIN for your truck.
Michigan66...did your truck have the "american racing" looking wheel on it. Prob aluminum rim with about 8 holes that circle the rim? I thought it was an option that came a different rim. I know the tire was "short and wide" so to say on the rim. From doin some research on thinking it might have been a 225-70-14. Thanks for all your guys input!
My 90 Ranger XLT supercab 2.9 5spd has the American racing wheel option and they are listed on the door sticker as P215/70R14. The same wheel was available for the Explorer but in a 15 inch and the tires were usually 235 series.
I omitted that my Ranger is 2wd also. Sometimes when buying tires the 14 inch size is a stumbling block because the tires I have wanted to buy were only available in 15 inch or larger.
Yah mine is the 2wd ext cab 5spd 2.9 also! I just wondered if what was on the door sticker is for the original tire setup...or if it is actually for the "amer racing" size wheel option? I was thinkin that it was prob a 225-235 series like you stated about your explorer! Thanks again!
