90 F-150 ECM swap

Hi gang,
Would anyone know if I can swap a ECM,I have a 90 F-150 4x4 5.8 Litre automatic, and have a ECM from a 89 F-150 5.8 lt 2-wheel drive and manual Trans.

depends on what tranny is in the 90. are you puting the 90 ecu into the 89 or vise versa?

I want to put the 89 ECM in the 90,it's a auto overdrive(the 90 4x4).
Does this type of ECM control the tranny in these vehicles?
