Cody is this mainly to bad maintenance on part off the owner or is it a common problem on these trucks. How many have you done so far? One thing about it youve done it before so it shouldnt take long this time around.

Hopefully you can get it done quicker since you've at least done one now.

How'd it turn out getting paid on the last one, with you flagging all the different steps seperately?

I don't think this one is due to bad maintenance. The oil seems pretty fresh to me. The last one however was reminiscent of changing the oil in an old 6.9/7.3-6.2/6.5.

There is one common link between the two trucks though.....a FRAM oil filter. I specifically remember the last one and this one is sitting roughly 20 feet from me.

I guess I'm not bashing FRAM...I'd never use one, but it's a thought.

This will be the second. I'm the only one who's changed a turbo in the shop since the last guy quit about 9 months ago.

I've already kicked butt on gaining access to the turbo, getting the transmission out, and the turbo up-pipes off (<2.5 hrs. so far). I know what I have to take off this time around because of the stuff I took off last time that I didn't need to.

As far as the hours, that was one of the stipulations of me doing this turbo. The service writer came out and asked if I'd be interested (since I didn't diagnose it). I told him to look up and see what kind of time I got out of it last time and I'd make my decision from there. No sense in getting paid 4.1 hours for something that took me 14 last time (or thereabouts). Well, turns out I got 12.5 hours out of the last one so I told him I'd do it. 2.5 hours into it....I think I may get it in 12.5 hours this time around.......
