Whats the cost to make bio diesel?
If one was to buy the 500.00 machine, and make their own fuel, what is the average cost per gallon once you get up and running. Im considering this, but If its not going to save me money, its not worth it to me. I called a local place that sells it here in Berkley CA, and they want 3.60 a gallon for B99. To me, 90 cents more a gallon isnt worth it. Thanks for the help.

Hey Gt, If you take a little more time you wont be as huge as Fabman but you can build your own system for less than 500. Your major costs can be eliminated by using a junkyard for a variety of parts. 55 gal barrels, auto fuel pumps, used waterheaters, then your just down to new filters and fittings. Im still working on mine but both Fabman and Firerooster have been helpful. Just alot of google searches will turn up info to support you. Make your own you will be happy.

Ok I dont know if any of yall have seen Dirty Jobs where Mike goes to the guy who makes Bio, But he has those HUGE clear tanks, and Im wondering if using a clear tank helps any by being able to see whats in there. Also would old fertilzer tanks work? Id only need to make about 35 to 40 gallons at a time, and that will get me going for about 2 weeks. Fabman, you drive an older truck right? How much did it cost you to change all your lines?
