95 F150 coil firing when engine is off

Trying to help a friend over the phone, he has a 1995 F150 4.9 that cranks
but won't start. It has fuel pressure, with key in the on position he heard a
clicking in the engine compartment. After touching the coil wire he found out
what it was! What would make the coil continue to fire when the engine isn't running? He already put a ignition module on it, but I dont know where he got
it from. any help would be appreciated, Lewie
