When I said "original",I guess what I really meant was,"compatible" for a 351W.
When I see you guys throw around numbers like,"4180",I get confused.
That number is nowhere to be found anywhere on this carb,and it had me wondering about how you figure out which carb is which.
Is there a chart that explains it all for the novice?

4180 is the series number. 4180 is an OEM series carb with annular discharge booster venturies in the front, sealed idle mixture screws in the baseplate instead of the metering block, vacuum secondaries, electric choke, and exact size jets (usually 62 2) which means they are exactly 62 for emmisions reasons.
Why can't a 87 truck come with a carb originally part numbered in 1983? If the carb didn't change, would it not have the same number? Does Ford create new part numbers every year even if the part stays the same? I've seen the magic decoder rings before but not sure how Ford applies them.
Due to emissions calibrations, they must be calibrated for each model year.
It should work OK on your 351W.
