switch captains to bench in 1999 lariat

I would like to switch out the captains chairs in my 1999 lariat for a 60/40 bench to accomodate all my family. It has a center console but does not have a cd player in it. Does any one know if this can be done?

Yes, it would be a very easy task. The bucket seats you are currently running have 4 bolts holding them to the floor. 2 of them are 10mm and 2 are 12mm. The center console is held down by 4 bolts going to two floor brackets that are also bolted to the floor. There are a few variables to consider though. If you currently have memory seats, you will need to remake the harness or just run a hot and ground to the new electric seats. You also have to make sure you plug up the seatbelt indicator. If your current seats have side impact airbags, you will need to either get a bench with side impact airbags or get a jumper plug for the airbag system. Seatbelts are also something to consider. If you currently have pillar mounted seatbelts and go with a 60/40 bench from a donor F150 or Expy, you will most likely end up with seatbelts in the shoulder of the seat itself. You will need to remove the old seatbelts and get the cover from the donor truck as well. One last thing, if the donor vehicle was wrecked, check to see if the seatbelt mechanism fired off. It is designed to fire off like an airbag and yank you back into your seat during an impact. I would replace the seatbelts to be safe.
