f150 4.2 V6 catalytic converters

I have a 2000 F150 4.2 V6, and just blew out both the driver's side cat converters. These trucks come with 4 cats total, (in California anyway). I read somewhere that Magnaflow makes a cat to replace both (approx. $100 each), so you will only have a total of 2 cat converters instead of 4. Is this legal? Better yet, can I get away with it, without manipulating sensors to fool the check engine light? Anyone know of a decent fix, but not extremely expensive? I am considering re-doing the whole system.

Can't see how this would replace the 4 without messing with the sensors. The Comp system is looking for a reading from the 4 senors. Just for ha, ha's, what makes you think you blew out the cats?

If your mileage is under 70K, you're still under warranty. If so, see your dealer to avoid a large bill.

no cats for me

i have a 99 4.6, and i have both of the big cats cut off and the two smaller ones hollowed out, i have had this true-dual set up for about 20,000 miles now and i have yet to have any problems, the place that did my work just welded the o2 sensors back into the pipe. I live in Indiana so the laws arent as strict as Cal., i have only got one ticket for them and that was because i piped a cop, haha.
