Anyone near Syracuse?

I am wondering if there are any older Ford truck owners (1967-1979) in the Syracuse area. I have a 79 F150 4x4.

I use to own a 1977 F-150 4x4 plow truck. Sold it to get my 1999 F-350 SD EC 4x4 plow truck. I am I think 3 hours or so from you. Were you looking for information or what?

I am an hour or so south of you. I have a completed 66 F100 and a 60 that I just bought last month. My daily driver up to a year ago was a 78 F150 4X4 that now is parked on the edge of my woods. My daughter was driving it in the feild last summer but it is resting now. Currently I drive a 95 F150 4X4. Not half the truck my old 78 was!

spurredon - how come your '78 is parked? Is it too far gone to be driven on the road? That is what happen with mine. The guy that bought it from me never put it on the road. He had over a mile long driveway to plow and my truck fit what he was looking for.

Yeah, the engine was really going thru oil, out the tail pipe and thru the gaskets. There were quite a few other little problems that add up to almost restoration. It gave me many years of service. I must of hauled 50 tons of gravel, coal or whatever with it. I still really like that body style. Hopefully someday I can get a solid "southern", body and use some of it's parts and pieces!

Mine was just so rusted that it was not worth restoring. Everything was rusted on it so there was not any one piece that would have be worth using on another vehicle. I agree as I still like that body style the best of them all. My SD is nice, but there is something about the lines on those trucks. Good luck on that resto project!!

Yeah, pics would be nice. It does take a little more gas to drive those things but it is so worth it. There are fewer and fewer of them on the road. With all the work they have done in NY state over the years, we need to resurect every one we can or at least use it's parts to keep another one going.

ozzy460, I will have to check to see if the 1977 F-250 that was for sale about a month ago is a highboy and still available. Don't know anything about it other than I saw a newspaper ad for it and it was a plow truck which may be the death of it. My F-150 was a great truck, but all the plowing killed it or more correctly the rust from the exposure to the salt.

Are you looking for any 73 to 79 trucks for parts including Broncos? I still keep an eye open for them as I just like that body style the best. Let me know what you are looking for.

Hey ozzy, good to see those pics! Keep at it. You can feel the power coming out of the 74!

ozzy460 - I will see if that highboy is still available and let you know what else I run into. It was about a month ago that truck was for sale.

Does your buddy have 1999 and newer Super Duties? I got rid of all my older Ford parts and don't currently need anything for my truck, but you never know. I just missed a deer this past weekend with the SD and last year with my Range Rover I got two. Heck that was better then some of my friends did with guns and I didn't have to leave the comfort of my vehicle!!
