New Dodge diesel

Dodge is getting rid of the cummins and putting in mercedes diesels. Does anyone know the specs on the mercedes? And how good do you guys think its gonna do? I personally dont think the powerstroke has anymore competition.

was the 6 liter PSD ever competition?

I think mercedes can make a diesel engine just like anyone else. you guys/gals are so brainwashed that IH and CUmmins are the only 2 good manufactures of diesel engines.

That is completely false.

BTW i will be highly surprised if the new dodge engine doesn't have 400hp and a 6 speed auto tranny.

The Mercedes variable turbo uses a much simpler design, variable nozzles, specifically for reliability.
I'd be afraid of two turbos when Ford is having so much trouble keeping just one spinning now!!

It's a free country....totally, in a sense.

You did bring up the Dodge/MB topic first, though, and we do like to acknowledge the rest of the goings on in the auto world. Fair enough? Good, I think it is as well.

I haven't heard anything about this. Do you have any links to some info about it? Unless its for cost reasons, I don't see why they would do this, the cummins is what sells there HD trucks right now.

Any links to back it up? Claims like this come out every month but never materialize.

Dodge truck forums are saying that the cummins contract is up in 2007 and there is a mercedes 450hp diesel in the works for the ram HDs.

450hp or not, the cummins is what sells dodge diesel trucks. If they quit, I see their sales plummeting.
