Noisy lifters

MY '79 300-6 has some noisy lifters that resemble a diesel at idle. I posted this question before and received little response. What causes the noise? Sticky lifters? valve lash? improper torque on the adjusting nut on the studs? I'm also toying with the idea of having the head rebuilt while I'm replacing the head gasket. Should I replace the lifters and rods at the same time? Can hydraulic lifters be rebuit? Any wisdom is gladly appreciated. Many Thanks

Noisy lifters

Try adjusting the valve lash first. This quited down my '77 quite a bit.
