Best way to lift 93 F150??

I have just recently purchased a 1993 F150 short bed standard cab 4x4 with 300 6 cylinder. Now i am thinking about getting a lift kit for it, i cant afford to spend alot of money on a suspension lift. I not going to be doing much 4 wheeling if any and if i do it will be very lite to mild, no extremes. This truck is also my daily driver so i still need it to be good on the street without affecting any drivability. I love the way they look with a 2 to 3 inch lift. I have heard that using blocks to raise the body gets into alot of other modifications, is there any other way to lift my truck other than suspension lift or body blocks thats not a half *** way to lift? Thanks alot!!

to do it the safe way you will prolly want to get a kit. the skyjacker kit is superior to any other kit ( i have run many different brands) unless you have a solid axle up front, which i am assuming you dont have.

you can shackle flip the rear which will net you about 3" but then you wont be able to haul quite as heavy of a load.

look to spend about $6-700 to do everything right and to allow for error (you always get nickle and dimed to death)

i think so, here the link to a kit i found:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-...QQcmdZViewItem

Also, what all is involved with this? Is there anything else that will have to be modified? Is it a good idea for a daily driver vehicle?

Thanks!

no i dont think i'd go that route.... looks too cheap.

shackle flip the rear (for starters) and get radius arm drop brackets and drop your coil towers

Someone mentioned that if i do the shackle flip that i wont be able to load much weight in the bed. Where would i get radius arm drop brackets and for how much.

Also i stumbled upon this kit on summit:

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...t+kit&x=12&y=5

What are some opinions on this kit?

Add-a-leaves almost always increase capacity a small amount.

How about the lift incresing springs for the front of the truck? Or are they going to munk with the alignment too badly?

Lifting the rear is the easier and cheaper part. For a small lift (2.5") many kits use a bigger block. However, for 4" or 6", blocks are not particularly good.

Lift kits should deal with the front alignement issue, though some are better than others in that respect. I have a Tuff Country 2.5" kit with extended radius arms and I'm satisfied with them. Other kits for your truck are Rough County, Skyjacker, Procomp, BDS, and Superlift. 2.5"/3", 4" and 6" are the standard lift amounts.

Do any of the kits also even out the height of the truck at the same time as lifting the truck? I don't want my truck to ride with the nose down, I would like to even it out.

If you used a shackle flip kit or whatever you want wouldnt you have to correct the pinion angle as well? For 6-700 dollars you can get a decent lift kit for it. I think super lift has one 6" lift for like 600-700 dollars.

I don't think any kit will even out, but some have about 1" less lift in the rear, so the truck will look closer to level. It's not possible to predict the exact stance after lift because of the differences in weight between different models. If you *really* want an even stance, I guess you can go to a machine shop, and have them make a custom spacer for you. Personally, I wouldn't bother with it, since when you put any weight in the bed, it will change.
