Cross over tool boxes

Just a suggestion but the tool box on my current truck and last truck I never drilled any holes in the truck just the box. What I did was take a 2x4 and cut it to fit into the stake holes. Then I ran lag bolts into the wood thru the holes in the bed that go into the stake holes. But make sure that the bolt is still sticking out enough that the wood cannot be pulled out. Then just bolt the box to the wood.

I'd strongly recommend a WeatherGaurd box. Yes, they cost more. But are built well and last forever. The box I have now came off of my old truck. Before that it was on two of my Dad's work trucks. I'd guess it's at least 15+ years old. Only ever replaced the lift cylinders once in that time. I know they have a system that uses "J" hooks to secure the box to the bed rails. So, no holes required. I drilled holes and bolted mine anyways. Best of luck to you!
