As for the Tundra, I think thats ugly. Looks like someone took the old tundra put an air pump in it, and blew it up to much. Truck has nothing on the 150 or the dodge. My opinion.

I see the F150 cab lines windshield back along the doors, but I'm not a big lover of the looks of the F150. Like a Ford Factory Rep. told me once, since I was an old traditional Ford guy it will take time to like the newer styles. That was in 1993 with the new Ranger. If Toyota comes out with a 3/4 ton and a diesel Ford, Dodge, & GM might have a tough road ahead. Toyota will be in NASCAR this year and I'm betting even though I'm not a betting guy that Toyota will be in the front in two years. American companies are asleep at the wheel, again.

Another good read from BuisnessWeek:
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/06_07/b3971060.htm
This forum is "Ford vs. The Competition" and I would say Toyota is looking to beat the F150 in several ways with what will probably be sold as a 2008 Tundra.
I imagine many of the younger buyers would have no issues with buying the biggest most powerful truck.

- More tow capacity - 10K
- More HP - 330?
- More interior room
- Bigger in size and length
- Made in Texas (with with 12000 jobs) where Ford dominates. (Powerplants built in Virginia and Alabama.)
- Toyota plans to sell 57% more of the new Tundras than it sold last year.

Are you serious? Decades of the American public taking it up the you know what with lemons, while Toyota makes trouble free cars and trucks. Everyone has a breaking point...

elemint, I think you are confused. You obviously have never owned a Tundra. They are worse than a Ford anyday escpecially in regards to brakes, shocks, and rear axles. And the fix is no where in sight. Did you know that the Tundra is prone to rollovers? That's right, you didn't read about it in the paper like you did the Explorer but it is just as real if not worse than the Explorer. Sorry, you haven't been paying attention to the worst introduction of the 2005 model trucks either. The Tacoma is a major joke- and a darn expensive one. Cabs coming loose- come on. Noisy injectors, poor A/C, exhaust that runs under the frame- what idiot designed that, plastic bed that breaks but isn't warranted. Man, you haven't a clue. The new Tundra, backside ugly, like the Tacoma, incredibly expensive to maintain, grossly over rated, and considering the I Force that is the current engine- I hope you can afford to feed it. The current Tundra drinks gas and any 5.4 will beat it in fuel mileage. Can only speculate how dismal the larger engine will be. And if I wanted to pull 10,000lbs, I'd opt for a real truck, like an F-350.

I don't think that thing will be taking much market share at all. Not very attractive. Didn't look at the interior, but whats wrong with the Ford interior that you would buy an uglier truck?
Maybe by the time this thing debutes ford will have/ be close to having that 6.2 v8 or a diesel engine.

The media is biased against the American Big 3. Look at MT picking Hondas as car of the year and the Ridgeline as Truck of the Year. The car I can see but the Ridgeline no way. Even Consumers Reports has a bias against American. It makes me sick because we have cars and trucks that do as well.
