Honda............Most dependable, reliable 4 wheeler out there. May not have all the bells an whistles like some, but they are awesome.

Depends on a lot of things. But no matter what dont buy anything but a Honda. You can not beat the reliability of them. Dont listen to what any one tells you Hondas are by far the best. Quads are my thing. I am with quads like the guys in here are about trucks. Everything depends on what you want to spend and what you are going to use it for.

Suzuki hands down. They're less expensive and better made. With Suzuki you get a front LOCKER without paying a grand more for it.

Honda has a really good reputation, which they deserve because they do build a good product, but a lot of people really overrate them.

I have been very happy with 4 Yamahas I have had. A Bruin, Kodiak, Raptor, and a Grizzly. I have never had any problem with any one of them over the years I have owned them. With the exception of one time the float valve stuck on the Grizzly, but it was parked for 4 months with old gas without being moved, so I kind of expected it.
I have owned 2 Hondas. One old Foreman, and a Rincon650. The Rincon I had for about 10 months and sold it to buy the Grizzly. I just did not like the automatic transmission the Rincon had, and it lacked power. Or at least in my mind it didn't have as much power as I thought a 650cc engine should have. The Grizzly 660 that replaced it has a lot more power across the whole RPM range, and it is a lot more comfortable for me. Much better ground clearance and it handles a lot better at high speeds too.

Ive owned Yamahas and Hondas worked closely with people that owned Polaris Suzuki and Hondas. Polaris were junk when they started but definitly have ccome a long long way. Yamaha would be my second choice. But still are not as reliable as the Hondas. For Suzuki I will Just keep my opionion to myself. Most anything you buy will run and work well if you take care of it. The Honda will last longer no mater what. I used to think the Hondas were overrated too. Untill I bought my 250R. All of the bearings and bushings in the chasis of a Honda will outlast any other brand by at least double. But of course if you keep it greased up and dont do any hard riding you will probably be allright.

i have an 04 honda rincon...excellent...i heard that 05 they downgraded the power in them but my 04 can pull trucks out of stuck mud. my brothers always ride 50 yard wheelie's on it to...we have maxed it out at 64 mph...basically you get the rough rugged power of a work atv and the ability to drive fairly quickly and ramp
(we have put ours airborn 3 feet high and landed hard with no problems) and all like a little quad.

I have an 02 rancher 4x4 and it's been a good one. I guess the main reasons being I choose this one is that it's a honda so it would be very reliable and the financing, honda has the best financing vs all the others. Yamaha makes a good fourwheeler too, I don't have a lot of experience with kawasaki or suzuki so I can't comment on those.

Here in MT we had to add a horn, mirrior, lic plate in rear with a light..You may want to check in your state to be sure..Since you never had an atv before I suggest riding, even if it is just at the dealerships, the ones you are interested in..Try atv fourms like atvfrontier.com or atvquadsquad.com to read what people have to say about their machines..What ever one you pick make sure YOU like it..Good luck and let us know what you get..

It depends on your state and city. Most places, its impossible to register an ATV as street legal. However, 3wheelers are a lot easier because most states state that 3 wheels or less = a motorcycle.

This guy had to make his 4wheeler into a 3wheeler to become street legal in CA.
