Where to find code 535 on the vehicle

Newbie post here - I have been searching for several hours today and am not having much luck. Here's the deal - I'm looking to buy a used F150, and there are many to choose from. One thing I want is the class III tow package (code 535). My problem is that I cannot find information that tells me where Ford identifies that the vehicle comes with option code 535. I know the VIN won't show it - will it show up on the information sticker on the drivers side door? Will the sticker say 535 on it? If not there, then where?

Moderator - you may want to move this to the towing section - I didn't notice that earlier, sorry

The vehicle certification label on the driver's door does not specifically indicate if tow package 535 was installed. It does show the axle code which will determine the towing rating.

You can pretty much eyeball whether a tow package was added - as discussed in this thread:

Thanks for the input. I guess my real question is how would a dealer know what truck they have? How would they verify that the tow package was installed by the factory? I gotta believe that there is some identifier stamped on the truck to indicate what the factory put into it. If I ordered any machine I would want to verify that what's in front of me is in fact what I ordered. How does the factory know what they built?

Really, it comes down to someone actually inspecting the vehicle and actually looking to see if all the features are there from the package.

Larger alternator and battery, Class III hitch, 7 pin plug with the relay installed so you have battery power to the plug, transmission cooler.

Odds are if you see a 7-pin wiring plug on the back, and it has the Ford stamp on it, the truck has the tow package. I don't think you could even order that without the package. Or at least that's just not what a dealer would have typically stocked.
