Any 4x4 off-road parks in NE & SD?

Anyone know of any good off-road parks in Nebraska or South Dakota? I know theres the National Forest in Halsey but I havent been there. If anyone has taken an early Bronco or Full size truck there let me know if its worth the trip. Mainly what Im looking for is a place where I can trailer a 4x4 and spend a week riding trails and do some camping. It doesnt necessarily have to be a super challenging trail but more for good scenery in the middle of nowhere.

Black Hills in SD has some roads. They are mostly gravel though. One area was hit with a forest fire about 5 1/2 years ago. Don't have any idea the condition though.

How about near Fort Robinson and the Pine Ridge is western Nebraska?

I read somewhere that someone up by Fremont is developing a ORV Park not sure when it's supposed to open.

Yes, us farmers call them center laterals

Seriously, around here there are some minimum maintence roads that are fun after it rains/snows. Very fun if you have crappy tires But seriously, that would be cool if they opened something somewhere other than Halsey (never been there either)

Yeah there are lots of MMR's around me and they are fun after it rains but Id like some different scenery. Some big hills would be nice plus Id like to find something challanging and dry.lol Exploring old mines and ghost towns would be cool. Sounds like there are some good places around Rapid City, SD but I havent figured out if its open to the public or if you have to join a local 4x4 club to get access.

Most of the roads in the hills are open to the public, or on gravel roads.

There also in the Badlands east of the Black Hills (Outside the national park.) Mainly Sheep Mountain and Cuny table. They used to open to the public, not sure of the current status.

The only places I know of with decent hills for four wheeling and atv'ing are up in Wyoming. Lot's of places to go, but it takes forever to get there!!

There sure aint much info on google. Im thinkin my best bet is to take a week off work and drive my 99 F-150 out to Rapid City and just explore the back roads on my way back. It seems state parks and national parks are not OHV friendly. Every thing is commercialized and tourism stuff. I want to get away from people.lol Nuke, where at in Wyoming have you gone?

Gotta watch those back roads out in SD, before you know it, there's nothing but cornfield... they don't see fit to put the minimum maintenace signs at the begining of the road, or dead ends for that matter... (speaking from experience....)

Tuttle Creek Off Road Park in Randolph KS. About 3 hrs from omaha. Its got everything from mud (when its been raining), to a rock garden, w/ decent hills. I wheel my Jeep down there along w/ alot of others. There isn't much in this area (I used to be stationed in Northern California 45 min from Rubicon trail) but its at least something.

I second Thomasm67 on Tuttle. For folks in south central and eastern Nebraska it is about 2 hrs south of Lincoln. Not a bad place to go. Check in on the KS chapter from time to time as we have been getting together there a few times a year for folks with Fords. There may be a group there the end of Feb.
