Question Quality ball joint for a 98 4X4?

Seems like I'm replacing lower ball joints every other year. First 2 sets were ford under warranty. Third set was Advance auto brand, trw I think. Any recommendations?

what are you doing with the truck? if you get ball joints with grease zerks and grease every 5000 miles, you should get 100,000 miles ? do you have a blade on the front of the truck or something?

Something is wrong elsewhere if you are replacing ball joints that often.

Until you find that, you'll keep wearing through them. However, keep using top quality FORD or OEM ball joints. Spicer balljoints are always top notch. The Autozone/Orielly's/cheap ones are not made to last like OEM. You can goo 100k+ miles on oem...but you NEVER seen cheap replacements last that long. Compare the weight difference .

Try Moog, they have zerk fittings.

The first 2 sets were OEM. The third set lasted longest and were aftermarket.
Nothing on the front end. I do tow a thirty footer on occasion with a weight distributing hitch.
I will look into the moog and the zerks.

I vote for the Moog....always used them....never an issue. Upper ball joints in the factory upper are not replaceable and you must replace the entire arm so replacing with a Moog or other quality brand makes them replaceable if ever needed again. Zerks are on the Moog.....I like them!

My alignment guy recommended the Spicer. He was not real keen on Moog. Says there is nothing wrong with the front end and Spicer ball joints are all he uses. So on my way to get a Spicer and see what happens.
