Try posting this in the 60's Ford truck forum. Might get better help there.

It looks like that one is already in the big Econo database, including the last line of data that you did not enter.

Here is a direct link to your Econoline data.

If the van had a 144 engine then it would have a WCC-A rear axle with a 7" ring gear. However this van has a 170 engine, which would mate with a WCC-D or WCC-M rear axle with a 7.25" ring gear. Would they have put a 7.25" ring gear in the WCC-A axle?

Here's the info straight from the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog:

Text Section 40.1, page 5 ~ 1964/65 Warranty or Rating Plate Code Chart: 01 (1964) Ford WCC-A / 3.50-1 / Parts list #89.

There is no WCC-M listed until 1966 (page 13): 01 = WCC-M / 3.50-1 / Parts list #89.

Text, Section 40A, page 24: Part list #89: C3UZ-4010-C .. Axle Housing, use with 144 engine & 7" ring gear // C3UZ-4010-G .. Axle Housing, use with 170 engine and 7 1/4" ring gear.

There is no WCC-D listed, period. Not for 1964/65, nor for 1966/67.

Thanks

I was confused by the chart on page 1 of section 40.3 that shows a 7" ring gear for the WCC-A axle. I guess this chart is incorrect.

1961-67 Econoline Van Vin Decoder

New to FTE and looking for some help on decoding my vin so I can be certain of its specs before I start the restoration process. I've tried to do the leg work and decode it myself but have come up short when it comes to certain parts. It'd be much appreciated if someone could help me decode as much as possible. Thanks in advance! Here's the digits (pulled from the plate on the driver's door):

E14TH522274
090 E145 489 <---(MIGHT BE H89) A03
4850 85 3600 710735

Find your data-plate decode here:
Econoline ID

Can you tell what color it was originally? Your van was a special order, and the paint color is not listed.

@EmilBarnabas - Thanks for the info! The color on the inside of the van, which looks like the original is a deep metallic green. Interesting to find out it was a special order!

@NumberDummy - Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it!!! So glad to get this information and start work. Thanks again.
