no, but i am seriously looking into it. i hate to pay $1000 for a new gas tank, especially when a diesel can buy a 57 gallon for $100 less, but i would love to have the extra volume on my towing trips with my camper so i wouldnt have to stop for gas. if anybody has done this replacement, i would be interested to know as well.
Yeah, i am most interested in ground clearance issues and whether the dash computer on the lariat can be reprogrammed. I live in south louisiana and everytime there is a hurricane (and theres at least 3 per year) there is a shortage of fuel. I'd like to have the extra 20+ gallons.
It is possible to reprogram the
computer with the new tank size. I read how to do it on a website for replacement fueltanks. I'm with Jake00 - too expensive for me, besides I still have to go to the bthroom on long trips, so I might as well get fuel at the same time.
A. the fact that my gas tank works fine right now and doesnt need to be replaced
B. the fact that LB's get a bigger tank stock
C. Jeep wranglers come with 2 different size tanks, A buddy upgraded his with a used tank for less than 50 bucks.
I posted that from the oversized tire standpoint (35s and up). If one had 35 inch or larger tires and a matching spare would it fit in the factory under bed mount? Most I have seen either had the factory spare or they had it just thrown in the bed if they have one at all.
Are there any federal/state regulations against carrying carrying maybe a 55 gal drum of gas well anchored in a pickup bed? I ask more from the point of view of transfering fuel for a boat. I've been to Northern Tool and everything they have seems to be for deisel, not gas, and they have no idea why.
