I have a 1994 F-250 Super Duty with 70K miles designed for towing our 5th wheel. Unfortunatey it only has a 5.8 ltr. (351-EFI), gas engine with a one ton 4.10 rearend. It really dies out on climbing hills. As it is now, it's a true definition of a "drag-n-fly" - drags it's but uphill and flies down the other side.
Question for all of the fellow FTE's - What is the best inexpensive bolt on power? Does anyone have any other ideas on how to gain more HP and/or especially more torque out of this 5.8 ltr? Already have dual exhaust.

Start with the basics.

Air filter, etc.

The engine could be worn out. With that combo it should haul like a raped snake.

I had a 5.8 HO and 3.0 differential.
There was nothing I couldn't pull.

 

I've already done all of that, actually we only use the truck for towing our 5ver. I wonder if it would be worth installing headers and a power chip. We're towing around 10k.

shorty headers and a diablo chip will make a very noticable torque difference. I did that to mine and have no problem spinning over my 31" M/Ts...
