How can I perminately disable the seatbelt alert on my '05 Explorer Sport Trac. It is driving me crazy! Also, i usually leave my keys in the ignition. I have a keypad, so i use that to unlock my vehical. I would be willing to disable all of the alert functions (i.e. lights, keys, & seatbelt), if i need to. I've tried the code for the seatbelt in the handbook, but that only works once. After i shutdown, it returns to its originally settings. Can anyone help?

 

I believe that I disable mine by using the procedure listed in the owner's manual. I have an '03 model, so I don't know if the proceure is the same for an '05 or if Ford even prints the procedure in the '05 manual, but that's where I would start.

 

The only procedure's in my manual that i've found simply disable the system temporaily. The next time i start my truck, it starts beeping again. I'm looking for a perminate solution. What speaker or device produces the noise? Maybe i can just cut the wires to it?
