Ohhh come on, those plugs are easy to change! I've got a 91 and I've got it down to where I can do all the plugs in under a half hour. Let me explain what I do...

I buy new plugs and wires every time. Never buy just one or the other.

Then you rip all the plug wires off. Sometimes the metal caps will rip out, but thanks to my loooonnnggg needle nose pliars, it is possible to get them off easily. Those needle nose pliars come in handy when you're trying to get the two driver side rear plug wires off.

Then you get yourself a few extensions with a 5/8's socket and take em out.

I was just kidding. I know it's hard to do, but if you do it once a month like me... it becomes very easy!

136K and the original Bosch plugs...look terrible....Thought my new T belt had jumped time but after tearing it down (nasty again) all is well....plug job looks ugly. I can't even get the #1 RH plug back in. For sure will pull the intake, a/c compressor and the LH rear lift bracket.....suddenly starting getting a miss and occasional backfire.

Bosch plugs were not origanal equipment and most Ford engines run poorly with them.
Same for Bosch plug wires.
Stick with new Motorcraft or Autolite plugs and wires, might as well replace both at same time.

If you use the Motorcraft wire set, the new versions, at least the ones I got, have a wonderful plastic grips that allow you to hook your finger in and pull to get the wire off the plug.

Yes, replace the plugs are wires at the same time, and only use the good plugs, so you don't have to do it again for a while.

96 2.3L plugs

Not as bad as it looked. 3/8" drive extensions w/o swivel worked fine. Passenger side was super easy with #3 and #4 on the drivers side more difficult. Couldn't even see the #4 plug but reaching through the intake the socket found the plug and the same with installing the new plug. All the wires came off clean and haven't decided wheather or not to change them. Though maybe just the passenger side but they don't sell them that way.
