Hey all.
We just had one 03 powerstroke towed into the shop thursday, and one brought in for a oil leak. The one that was towed in, was on the road when the driver noticed smoke and smelled oil. He stopped and checked the oil level, after the oil light came on, not good. I did not have much time to look at it yet, monday i will pull it in the shop. What i did see was oil in the valley on the top of the engine running down. The second truck just had some oil on the hood, about center way. It was not as low as the first truck on oil. The tow in truck had about 60K on it regular service one crank sensor change and that is the history. The oil leak check up has about 30K, regular maintence no repair history. Any ideas? I will try to let you all know what i find on monday.

Hey I found the oil leak on the truck that was towed in. I thought it had the 6.0, but that truck has the 7.3 engine. The other truck has the 6.0. sorry. But i did find the fuel injecter high pressure oil pump was leaking, and the oil was running to the back of the motor and running down the transmission bell housing. I have not checked the other truck out yet.

You aughtta post your findings over in the 7.3 forum for the tow in truck vs the 6.0 drive in.
It would be fun to watch the hornets swarm after beating on the nest.
