Question clutch switch for cruise control

Can anyone tell me where the clutch switch for the cruise control is on an 88 F-150? The manual says it's on the clutch/brake support, but I can't find it. The way the wiring diagram shows it, there is only 2 wires going to it.

Thanks,
Mike B

If you have a hydraulic clutch, it's mounted on the shaft that goes through the firewall into the master cylinder.

I think there is a separate one for cruise control that is mounted above the pedal. The one on my truck is gray and has a plunger that extends when the pedal is depressed.

Thanks for the reply's. I do have the hydraulic clutch and don't see the gray switch on the clutch pedal. That is the one described in the shop manual. Looks like I need to trace the wires from the switch that's on the shaft for the hydraulic clutch.

I have an 87, so they may have changed it after that to operate off of the clutch safety switch. It doesn't seem like that would be what they do because the cruise should disable when the clutch first begins to go down, to kill the cruise immediately instead of waiting til the clutch is to the floor.

Is the switch easy to see on your clutch pedal? That's the way mine used to operate before it suddenly quit operating. One of the first steps in the troubleshooting flow chart is to make sure this switch is working.

The cruise switch I'm thinking of is mounted to the pedal support structure, not the pedal itself. I think it is pretty visible once you crawl under the dash (it's been a while since I looked).

Update: The switch I have is mounted on the shaft for the master cylinder like what frederick said. The switch checked out good, so I looked at the cable connection from the servo to the throttle. I found the clip that holds in on came off. Put the clip back on, and i now have my cruise back.
