Truck rating? under 7700, over 7700?

I just replaced my front brake pads, and I went down to the parts store and they asked, Over 7700 or Under 7700. Well checking the door sticker, it is listed at 6250. So I tell then under. When I get home, wrong pads. OK I think wrong packing. So I go back and look at another set...still wrong ones. So they pull out a box with the part number for the "Over 7700", and wadda ya know!! Right ones. What gives? Also the "under" pads are larger then the "over" pads? ????

They are different. But I think their catalog is goofy.

Did they look the parts up on a computer?

The Advance Auto just down the road from me has screwed up my order numerous times because their computer is wrong. I just have them look it up in the book from then on and everything has been right.

Unless your 02 says 7700 (Under the F150 on the tailgate is one spot) on it, it's the under 7700 package. They must have thier computers messed up. Just changed my 2000 under 7700 front pads and rotors, used under 7700 parts, and everything worked like it should.

I'd shop somewhere else from now on.

Don't have to worry about the rear pads... they are the same for all F150s of this time frame.

Wierd...No biggie...just curious. And they did go to their computers. Maybe they do need to get em re-programmed.

I go online myself and visit parts places like AutoZone and Checker/Schucks/Kragen just so I can get the part's numbers before I buy. Seems when I research them, the store never messes up.
