An electronic water pump is for racing applications only.

There isn't an advantage unless you want to maximize the power output for only short amout of time. For any type of longivity or reliability, the mechanical water pump is the way to go. The only advantage is that it doesn't rob power when you need itn now!!

Electric water pumps are for vehicles that are trailered to the track--the vehicle towing them has a mechanical one.

Using an elecrtical water pump should only be an option when all other power modifications have been explored.
