For me personally $262 per barrel wouldn't be all bad, but than I do work for Petroleum Helicopters Inc.
for that price I might get a raise?

I think if they shut down the oil fields that we just invade iran. Yes that would make the world think we are some nasty people but i dont think we a nation should take the shaft on everything. I think we have put up with enough stuff from the middleeast and now it is time to just down right take over. It is obvious that they can not take control themselves so i think we should do it for them. We have spent to many dollars and lives over in the middleeast to let this happen but hey thats just my opionion.

Let's remember Soros's claim to fame was taking on the Bank of England and winning. That was over 20 years ago. Since then his investment track record has been as spotty as Paul Allen's.

I look at charts a lot- especially long-term charts. They will usually tell you an interesting story- especially when major trends start to change. Right now, $80-$86/barrel is pretty much baked into the cake. If you drew a line across the price tops since 1998, you'd be around $97.75. that'd be "fear spike" territory.

<a href="https://ssl.godmode-trader.de/charts/46/2005/ddb8260.gif" target="new">oil chart link</a>

Sigh.

Polar, use an HTML tag like this.

< a href="your url here" target="new" > link text here < /a >

Remove the spaces from the < > and it will work.

Oil could just as easily go to Five bucks a barrel as $262. This guy has no crystal ball. Although, I'm a petroleum engineer, so if oil goes up, so does my net worth.

Every analyst I've seen has said that gas prices will be at or above 3 dollars a gallon over the summer. Thats pretty scarey. I remember seeing people line up around the block for 2.80 cents a gallon gas here in detroit the last time it got that high. I can't imagine long term 3 bucks a gallon. Whats that in oil 75 dollars a barrel? I'm sure glad my company gives me a vehicle and pays for my gas, wonder how long thats gonna last.

Consider the source of the article, CNN carrying a article about the Pontificating George Soros, no surprise there! The originator and financier of the most politically liberal websites on the planet, and doomsday soothsayer time and time again really gets no heed from me. Soros has turned into a wack job who still milks his "Bank of England" fame to make half baked predictions. Most people don't realize that Soros has lost almost as much as he has made in the last ten years. His ability to make investments is hindered (influenced) by his liberal "way-left" views. Taking investment advice from him anymore would be like getting Moral advice from Howard Stern.

you can get oil from corn cheaper than 262bucks a barrel. I mean do you really think the economy can keep on rolling at 262big ones a barrel. The effects of such an outrageous price would send this country and world into a tailspin we could never recover from.

I work installing and servicing heating equiptment. we have had alot of customers switch from oil to gas.Because in thier words oil is to high and going to go even higher. I told them gas will increase if oil goes up. I have had several customers offer me thier 1 year old pellet stove because of supply of pellets is almost non existant here. Split seasoned wood is going for over $200 and cord around here. It's a case of damned if you do senario by trying to save a buck on heating. But in the same respect the same person would pay the $3.00 a gallon for gasoline and probably not think twice about it.

88Ford-F150, Remember that Iran is a country of 85 million (about 30 million more than Iraq and Afghanistan, combined). Walking into that place would be major undertaking. The only thing we'd have going for us is that the majority of the population of the country (Iran) is anti-dictatorship. Still, not something that would be like strolling into Tikrit or Bahgdad.
