Lincoln Fan

Just finished installing the Mark8 Lincoln fan and controler from Delta Control . It works like a charm and should cool anything you can stuff in your truck . It blows the old Spal fan away !

I looked in your gallery. What a nice truck!

Is the photo in your gallery of the engine fan, the lincoln fan? What is the shroud from that fits up to the original 49 radiator?

Love your truck! That two tone paint looks perfect for the truck.

I have a mech fan right now, but until summer I won,t know how effective its going to be. I,m very interested in where and how much was your lincoln fan and controller? That variable speed fan sounds like a great idea.

I agree, very clean truck. Boy that Lincoln fan sure doesn't give you much clearance between the fan motor and water pump, or is the angle of the picture. Nice install.

I'm curious to know how loud it is. Is it louder than the Spal you had? Can you hear the radio?

I like the fan idea.
What year(s) Lincoln and I am not familiar with a Delta controller. Did the controller come from the Lincoln or how do you order/buy one?

I'm interested to know what the amperage draw is and what the cfm specs are. Any ideas?

thanks for the compliments on the truck !! You can get the lincoln fan ( mark 8 )from dccontrol with their controler . The fan is cheaper if you get it from someone other than dccontrol . I got the fan brand new for 150 plus shiping . The controler works great !!! The say the lincoln fan will move over 4000 cfms on high . If you were to use a standard on off controler the fan draws 100 amps on start up and 30 amps on high . The variable speed controler eliminates the initial 100 amp hit . When the engine reaches the temp you set the controler for the fan will run at whatever speed is necessary to keep the temp stable .The fan does not cycle on and off as it would with a standard controler .On the highway the fan will go off when the temp drops to the low setting on the controler . I let the truck idle for a hour the other day it was only 76 degrees but the fan kept it at 190 degrees and never came off low . On high it is quieter than the spal . I had to trim the fan shroud down to a total thickness of 5 1/4 inches and move the radiator forward 5/8 of a inch . Go to dccontrol.com they have all the info

I'm glad you know the numbers. That's a pretty big amperage draw. Now I'm wondering what the alternator output is on the mark-8? For a standard Ford alternator, they are somewhere around 60 amps, (older trucks and cars anyway). I think the newer stuff with all the fans, fuel pump, ignition, lights, stereo, air conditioner............well, I bet they are at least around the 100 amp range in the newer cars.

I believe the lincoln mark 8 has a 130 amp alternator . I first saw this fan on a mustang sight , they recomended upgrading to a 130 amp alternator . With this controler you dont have to , I have a 100 amp alternator and the spall fan I had before gave the charging system a good hit when it came on and was a constant 30 amp draw ( 2070 cfms ) . With this fan and controler I dont get the initial hit and so far it hasnt come close to going on high so it isnt drawing the full 30 amps . When I put the AC on the fan goes on at half speed , even that doesnt put much of a draw on the charging system . This fan moves a ton more air than the spall !!
