What's everbody driving?

Hi all. I'm new here. I am pretty sure that I'm a member of this chapter. I live and work in New England at any rate. And I've got an old "53 F-100 with the original 215 six that I'm restoring. I've also got a '93 F-150 with ten times the rust through as the '53. And it's a lot harder to work on than the '53. And parts are more expensive. But putting that aside, I'm just curious what people in the Chapter are driving or working on. Do you folks get together at shows? If so, which ones?
Happy Holidays,
jvmcc

I'm currently only driving my 89' as the 95' is down.

I lost the motor on the 95 in august, it's been down since, and hopefully will be back in commission soon with a new stroker motor and stronger transmission (donated from the 89'). I'm swapping the transmissions from the two trucks

The 53 sounds cool! I bet it's a lot easier to work on than the 93, they were a lot simpler back in the 50s. We had a BBQ this summer in NH that I went to w/ some of the guys here...it was fun dispite the rain ha. I think we're planning another get together for the spring, keep an eye on the forums for updates...I think there is already a thread on it here.

MustangGT & Hubs,
It's nice to hear from a few folks. When I reviewed some of the N.E. Chapter posts, I didn't recognize many of the names. I've spent most of my time here @ FTE asking questions about old trucks on the 1948-1960 truck sub-forum. I've gotten so much useful information off this site that I did the membership thing. FTE offers space for a website with membership, so I figured I would try it out. I've never really thought about a website before this, let alone try to put one together. I worked on it last Sunday, and got it started. I'm hoping that I can get all the stuff that I've learned from FTE and consolidate it in one place.
I'm relatively new to automotive stuff as recreation. Before I started in on restoring my '53, mechanics for me had always been born out of financial necessity. Anyway, if you ckick on the "FTE member" scrpt written in blue next to my avatar, you'll be directed to the beginnings of my site. (The Artichoke thing relates to the name of my design practice....I'm thinking that I'll get rid of most of the references to it, since I don't intend to use FTE server space to promote my business.) There's one photo of the truck somewhere in Texas a little more than 26 years ago. I recall we drove through El Paso. The photo is along I-10 someplace west of that.
My gallery photos show some of the work that I photographed, as well as the primitive shop conditions I'm working in. My goal is to have the thing ready and on the road by next Fourth of July. It's way too cold to work in the barn, but I'm still doing stuff piece by piece by carting it up the road to my house where I can do stuff like upholstery and engine stuff in my studio.
Look forward to talking to you guys later, jvmcc

Are you related to any McCullough's in MA by chance?

The area where that picture was taken looks awsome. I wish I could blast down there in my truck.

I split my driving between the 2004 F150 and the 1996 Crown Vic. The two 1991s are in storage for the winter.

My dad had a '53 when I was a kid.

MustangGT,
As far as I know, the McCullough branch that I spring from came from Wisconsin to California about three generations ago. The Wisconsin McCulloughs got their land there as part of pay for serving in the Union Army in the Civil War. I don't know if there are any relations still living in the Midwest. Certainly, the first McCullough over here must have arrived in Boston or New York, but I've never heard about any of them taking root in the East.

I drive a Windstar and a VW Jetta. Jetta is my bro's car and is left with me all week since he uses a company van during the week.

I tool around in a Golf myself. It still feels like a sportscar after driving an F-150 for five years.

I drive my 83 F250 4x4 year round but swap it out on occasions for my 00 Focus sedan or in the summer my 01 Focus ZX3. As for projects I have a 72 F250 4x2 (waiting for a frame off resto & funds) and 2 parts trucks one for my 83 and one for my 72.
